Fortnite Battle Royale – Many Small Victories, A Few Great Losses
I’ve already posted a video on my feelings for the base Fortnite game. In a nutshell, it’s pretty darn good, lots of interesting customization and specialization in it. The Battle Royale game though, it needs more content and more netcode work. This is nothing new for Battle Royale games, as 100 players on a server is a decent strain.
But game like Planteside 2 maintain server quality in the face of a vast number of players quite well. So it has been done before, and it can be done again. This is especially true with Epic Games, who own the engine they built the game on, so netcode changes should be a bit more easy to make. Despite the base game being an excellent place to pull weapons for Battle Royale from, Epic doesn’t do that! I know that stats and performances have to change a lot, but I see no reason for that to not be more common. The more variety, the better. Regardless, this is the Battle Royale game I see with the most growth potential right now, and I hope Epic makes the most of it. Enjoy the video!
