Resident Evil 7 Horrifying Deleted Scene

Everybody who’s visited the Baker family’s mansion in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard knows it isn’t a place where you stand idle in the face of wide-eyed crazies, routine intestine-eating and other such nauseating sights. In fact, so much evil goes down it that house, it’s hard to believe the game’s creators actually deemed a particular scene too extreme to include in the final game.

But they did. One idea in ResidentEvil7 was cut because it seemed a little over the top when it came to blood and guts. Instead it was replaced by another scene which players will no doubt remember.

The scene in question happens during the first boss fight of the game, when you’re forced into a deadly duel with your wife Mia. She’s been missing for a couple of years, and the time spent in the Louisiana house of horrors has, understandably, made her a bit crazy. Also, she’s been infected with a terrible virus that drives her partially insane.

But the hand-cutting action apparently wasn’t enough for everyone working at Capcom. They wanted to make things even more gory. Mia was supposed to slice off her husband Ethan’s entire lower torso with the damn chainsaw, leaving him to crawl back to a safe room with entrails flapping behind. Yuck!

PC Gamer recently attended a presentation with Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi where he said that “bisecting the hero entirely was deemed a little extreme”. Yeah, you got that right Koshi.
