Creator Of No Man’s Sky Receiving Death Threats Over Delay
Creator of No Man’s Sky and founder of Hello Games Sean Murray is reportedly receiving death threats over the recent delay of No Man’s Sky. According to a post made on his Twitter account, Murray has received “loads” of death threats this week.
Murray’s tweets seem playful in nature referring to rigging up the studio with Home Alone style traps to protect himself. He hasn’t been able to say anything about the launch up until this point for “legal reasons”.
No Man’s Sky launch was recently pushed to August 9, over a month later than its original June 21 release date. Though most have remained supportive of the developers, some fans have responded negatively to the announcement.
These threats come very shortly after gaming journalist Jason Schreier began receiving threats of his own from some No Man’s Sky fans as well. In a Twitter post of his own Schreier shows a screenshot of a direct message he received from another user.
“Be afraid human, we are coming for you,” reads the direct message sent to Schreier.
It seems the game has a rather passionate fan base with dozens of articles being posted on the game’s Reddit page. Most of which are supportive but according to some many of these discussion threads have gone sour, and some have even contained threats of their own. In many of these Reddit threads, lengthy posts are made debating the game.
Hopefully, nothing comes from these threats, and they are nothing but irate fans making inapprothreadspriate comments. We will keep an eye on the situation and report any further details.
